The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa (Katukan Yauri), has again been honoured with the Achievers Service and Productivity Award 2026.

The latest recognition adds to the long list of awards acknowledging the enviable achievements of Alhaji Yelwa as the helmsman of N-HYPPADEC. The award was presented to the Managing Director during the Achievers Service and Productivity Award ceremony organised by the Achievers Creative Theatre (ACT), in collaboration with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council, on Saturday, 29 August, at the NLC Secretariat, Minna.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Managing Director, the Special Adviser (Technical) to the MD, Prof. Yasin Abubakar, appreciated the organisers for finding him worthy of the honour.

He said the recognition shows that stakeholders and members of the public are paying close attention to the Commission's interventions, policies, and activities. He assured that N-HYPPADEC would not rest on its laurels in fulfilling its mandate to communities in the power-producing areas.

He added that the award would further motivate the Managing Director and the Management Team to continue discharging their responsibilities with utmost transparency, integrity, adherence to due process, and collaboration with critical stakeholders.
