N-HYPPADEC BOSS PRESENTS LIFE JACKETS TO KACHIA COMMUNITY, HONORED AS MARAFAN KACHIA
The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has presented life jackets to beneficiaries in Kachia, Kaduna State, in response to an earlier request made by the Agom Kachia, His Royal Highness Mr. Zamani Dogonyaro, during the Commission's previous visit to his palace.
The presentation, which took place on Saturday 12th September 2026, at the palace of the Agom Kachia, His Royal Highness Mr. Zamani Dogonyaro.
The gesture reflects the Commission's commitment to responding to the needs of its host communities and promoting the safety of residents who engage in activities around waterways, particularly fishing and water transportation.
The Managing Director, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, described safety on waterways as a matter of paramount importance to the socioeconomic development of the host COMMUNITIES. He said the Commission will continue to bring projects and programmes that will improve the living standards of people affected by hydroelectric dam operations.
He thanked His Royal Highness, Zamani Dogonyaro, Agom Kachia, for finding him worthy of the prestigious title of Marafan Kachia. "I am deeply humbled and looking forward to serving the institution with wisdom, integrity, and dedication." The MD said.
He assured the traditional institution and other stakeholders of his continued commitment to carrying out his duties diligently and collaborating with relevant stakeholders towards achieving sustainable development in hydroelectric power-producing communities.
The Agom Kachia, His Royal Highness Zamani Dogonyaro, commended N-HYPPADEC for its numerous developmental initiatives across the Commission’s mandate area, particularly its interventions in Kachia Chiefdom.
He turbaned the Managing Director as Marafan Kachia.
He said the traditional title was conferred in appreciation and recognition of the Managing Director’s sterling qualities and intervention projects across hydroelectric power-producing communities.
