N-HYPPADEC PARTICIPATES IN PRE-COP31 BRIEFING AND NEGOTIATORS’ CAPACITY-BUILDING WORKSHOP.
The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has participated in the Pre-COP31 Briefing and Negotiators’ Capacity-Building Workshop.
The National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), in partnership with Enzi Ijayo, organised the briefing, held at the Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
N-HYPPADEC was represented by the Head of the Geographic Information System (GIS)/Climate Change Unit, Hajiya Rukayyah Bahago.
The workshop, themed “From Pledges to Measurable Results: Consolidating Nigeria’s Voice and Implementation Plan for COP31,” focused on strengthening Nigeria’s climate negotiation priorities and advancing implementation-ready climate action ahead of COP31, scheduled to be held in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 9 to 20, 2026.
The key areas of engagement included climate finance, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0), climate adaptation, Article 6 carbon markets, just transition, and strategies for mobilising investment and partnerships to deliver measurable climate outcomes.
