The ongoing 12th Plenary Session of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES-12) currently being held in Manchester, United Kingdom is providing a strategic platform for Nigeria to contribute to global discussions on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience, particularly within hydroelectric power-producing landscapes.
N-HYPPADEC showcased its ongoing interventions focused on afforestation, flood control, ecosystem restoration, and community-based climate adaptation in dam-host communities across Nigeria.
On the sidelines of the plenary, the Commission engaged with international development partners, UN agencies, research institutions, and stakeholders to explore opportunities for technical collaboration, knowledge exchange, and sustainable financing for biodiversity restoration initiatives.
