The Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of the National Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has organised a sensitisation workshop for staff at its headquarters and the Niger State office in continuation of its mandate to promote a corruption-free work environment.

The exercise, which has been held across state offices, is aimed at fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct among staff.

Speaking at the headquarters session on Thursday, the Director of Administration and Finance, Dr. Jimoh Haruna Gabi, emphasised that transparency is the cornerstone of the Commission’s operations and urged all staff to internalise the core values of accountability to ensure efficient service delivery.

He maintained that the Commission has zero tolerance for corrupt practices and encouraged staff to align with its mission and vision.

Earlier, at the state office session on Wednesday, the State Coordinator, Umar Musa Alhaji, represented by Mr. Aminu Mohammed Kandi, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to aligning staff conduct with a corruption-free vision.

The N-HYPPADEC ACTU Chairman, Arch. Yusuf Ibrahim, in his address highlighted various mechanisms and strategies that can be adopted across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to prevent corruption.

The event featured presentations on corruption prevention, whistle-blowing policy, code of conduct, and workplace ethics.

Both sessions concluded with a call to action for all participants to serve as ambassadors of integrity within the Commission.
