N-HYPPADEC COMMISERATES WITH NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT OVER DEATH OF 37 ALLEGED ILLEGAL MINERS IN DETENTION FACILITY.
The Management of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) commiserates with the Government and people of Niger State over the death of 37 persons in a detention facility of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC).
The Commission particularly extends its deepest condolences to the Governor of Niger State, H.E. Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago; the Emir of Minna, H.R.H. Dr. Umar Faruq Bahago; and the families of the deceased.
N-HYPPADEC notes with deep sadness the sudden and painful loss of the affected persons, describing the incident as deeply distressing and unfortunate.
While commiserating with the government and affected families and standing in solidarity with them during this difficult period, the Commission appeals for calm to allow the relevant committees constituted by the Federal and State Governments to thoroughly investigate the incident and proffer appropriate solutions and recommendations.
The Managing Director of the Commission, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, FCNA, FNIIS, FNIM, prays that Almighty Allah grants the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grants the deceased eternal rest.
He further appealed to members of the public to refrain from sensationalizing the national tragedy and calls for sober reflection towards actions that will be for the collective good.
