It was a moment filled with mixed feelings as colleagues, staff, and family members gathered to celebrate the successful retirement of the Assistant Director of Technical Services, Arc. TPL Ibrahim Yusuf, who bowed out of public service after 35 years.

Arc. Yusuf, who joined the Commission in 2021 from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, was a resourceful member of the Engineering Department. Until his retirement, he was also the Head of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, commended Arc. Yusuf for his outstanding service to the nation.

Represented by the Director of Operations, Engr. Iliyasu Abdullahi Wara, the MD recalled the celebrant’s contributions to the design and construction of the N- HYPPADEC Headquarters, as well as his leadership on several projects executed by the Commission across member states.

He described Arc. Yusuf as a God-fearing and committed member of the N-HYPPADEC family. While encouraging the outgoing officer, he urged him to make judicious use of his skills and decades of experience in service to his community and the country.

In a similar vein, the Director of Engineering and Technical Services, Engr. Prof. Ipilakya Tertsegha Daniel described Arc. Yusuf as a jolly good fellow whose indelible marks will remain in the hearts of those he worked with. He also acknowledged his contributions to the Commission and the Directorate, noting that he should be grateful to retire as a fulfilled man.

Other staff members took turns to pay glowing tributes, describing him as a mentor and friend whose guidance and mentorship shaped their professional careers. They expressed optimism that he would take on even greater responsibilities as he exits public service.

In his vote of thanks, the celebrant appreciated the staff of the Engineering Department and the Commission at large for the honour bestowed on him.
