The second Day of the iconic festival featured the highly anticipated grand fishing competition, alongside colourful cultural displays, swimming competitions, dance and music performances, singing contests, boat regattas, and masquerade displays that entertained large audiences from all walks of life.
N-HYPPADEC’s participation is consistent with the Commission’s commitment under the leadership of Alhaji Yelwa to celebrate with host communities during major cultural festivals and events. At the Lake Nwonyo– venue of the event, the N-HYPPADEC pavilion was set up to showcase the Commission’s various interventions across its member states, with special emphasis on Taraba State.
Speaking on the significance of the festival, Alhaji Yelwa, who led the management staff of N-HYPPADEC, congratulated Governor Kefas and the Aku Uka, the paramount ruler of the Jukun Kingdom, on the successful hosting of the festival after a 14-year break.
He assured that the Commission would continue to provide critical interventions and support programmes aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the country.
