The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, distributed 13-hp power tiller machines to 320 farmers from its host communities in Kaduna State as part of ongoing efforts to promote mechanized agriculture and strengthen food security.
The distribution ceremony was held at the General Hassan Usman Katsina House in Kaduna and was attended by representatives of government agencies, development partners, traditional rulers, community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries from the Commission's host communities.
The intervention aims to enhance agricultural productivity, reduce the burden of manual labor, and improve farmers' livelihoods by providing access to modern agricultural equipment. The initiative also reflects N-HYPPADEC's commitment to supporting sustainable agricultural development and advancing food security within hydroelectric power-producing communities.
The event concluded with the formal presentation of the power tiller machines to the beneficiaries.
