N-HYPPADEC COMMENCES FREE ANNUAL NECO EXTERNAL SSCE REGISTRATION FOR 2026 EXAMINATION.
The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has commenced the free annual registration for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for 2026 across the 10 member States.
The initiative is under the N-HYPPADEC Education Support Programme, aimed at significantly increasing school enrolment, improving access to education, promoting human capital development and mitigating the challenge of out-of-school children, in line with the statutory mandate of the Commission.
Since the commencement of the free examination and scholarship programmes in 2021, over 20,000 students have benefited from the free NECO registration exercise, with the figure expected to reach 25,000 by the end of 2026. This is in addition to the Commission’s free JAMB UTME registration, construction and renovation of classrooms, provision of teaching aids and learning materials, installation of solar-powered streetlights and boreholes, as well as other social amenities in schools.
The Managing Director/CEO charged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, study hard, and work diligently in order to sustain the high level of success recorded in previous examinations.
