N-HYPPADEC MD Strengthens Partnership with Nasarawa Governor to Drive Rural Development

N-HYPPADEC’s Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, visited Governor Abdullahi Sule to deepen collaboration on rural development in Nasarawa State. He outlined ongoing projects in water supply, education, agriculture, flood control, and environmental sustainability. The Governor praised the Commission’s impact and pledged continued support, while the MD also engaged traditional rulers to strengthen community-level partnership.

MD N-HYPPADEC Visits Emir of Yamaltu, Inspects Dadin Kowa Hydropower Plant

The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Yamaltu as part of ongoing engagements in Gombe State to assess host community needs and strengthen collaboration. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Dadin Kowa Hydropower Plant to the state’s inclusion in N-HYPPADEC and assured the Emir of planned interventions to improve socio-economic conditions. The MD and his team also conducted on-the-spot assessments at the Dadin Kowa Hydropower Plant and the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park to identify areas for impactful development.

Core Value
The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission is charged with the responsibility of formulating policies and guidelines for the development of hydroelectric power producing areas and managing ecological menace due to operation of dams and other hydroelectric power activities.
What We Do
The Commission constructed flood and erosion control systems to avert the menace of the duo disasters in the vulnerable and affected communities of Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Niger and Kebbi States.


N-HYPPADEC Resettlement Housing Scheme is a proactive approach to alleviate the sufferings of the N – HYPPADEC Communities submerged by flood waters annually.



To avert the menace of flood, the Commission desilted drainage and water channels to allow free flow of water across its host communities.


Construction of Motorised Solar-Powered Borehole for easy access to potable water and a Solar-Powered street Light for security and safety while been used at night.
Distribution of subsidised fertiliser and 13HP Hand-Driven Power Tillers to support peasant farmer across host communities.
